Hello there,
I hope that someone can help me, I'm trying to configure a L3 port in a VDC (NX_CORE_A) in my Nexus 7004 but I'm receiving the next output and I can't configure it:
NX_CORE_A(config)# int eth3/1
NX_CORE_A(config-if)# no switchport
ERROR: Ethernet3/1: requested config change not allowed
I have no idea why I'm receiving this output.
This is my version:

Try using a SVI and assign the port into the vlan . Some of the nexus modules cannot do direct routing and have to use a different card to proxy the routing. I suspect the card you are trying this on is a L2 card only .Go here and look at the proxy routing section. To check to see if the card you are using is L2 only do a "show hardware proxy layer-3 detail" .
