Edgar,
When a module appears as Unknown on the show module command output, make sure you check these:
* The supervisor engine and the software it runs support the module.
* The specifications of the module. Make sure the module can be inserted in any slot or if it can only be inserted in specific slots.

Hello Edgar,
if I remember correctly you need to upgrade for another issue.
I would suggest you to try with a different IOS image like for example 12.2(33)SXI2a.
the 12.2(33)SXH5 may be performing some sanity checks on the module that makes the system think the module is not operational (false alarm)
Also what kind of submodule are you using on the WS-6704-10GE ? CFC or DFC
We have many switches with WS-6708-10GE with 12.2(33)SXH2 or 12.2(33)SXI2a
edit:
look at sh log it should give you some info about the reason why the linecard is placed in the unknown state see if there are messages about health fabric test failed and similar for slot 7.
Hope to help

Giuseppe,
please find my question on the top, why one of two my C6509''s can't upgrade to 122.33.SXH5.
WS-6704-10GE using CFC.

Hi Edgar,
I'm with Giuseppe here. Why not upgrade to another IOS, say, 12.2(33)SXI2a instead of 12.2(33)SXH5?

Lealahoo,
currently my C6509E working on 12.18.SXF17, but why can't upgrade to SXH5? how to find error / peoblem on my C6509E or my WS-X6704-10GE module?

but why can't upgrade to SXH5
If you upgrade to a higher IOS version you could be able to determine if the module works or not.how to find error / peoblem on my C6509E or my WS-X6704-10GE module
You could either a) upgrade to a higher IOS version; b) wait until a suitable answer appeals to you; or c) open a Cisco TAC case

Hello Edgar,
try to see in sh log why the module is not considered good.
in my understanding you could upgrade to 12.2(33)SXH5, but the WS-6704-10GE linecard in one chassis is not considered good.
of course your uplinks are on that linecard and this is a true issue
as I wrote before the switch should give you some error message about the linecard when booting in 12.2(33)SXH5
the older IOS image may be performing tests in a different way, or it may be not doing the same test as 12.2(33)SXH5 does
the CFC or DFC could cause the issue for example.
I saw some cases where the problem was with the submodule (CFC or DFC)
post the sh log if you have one or a sh tech and someone will help you in finding related messages
Hope to help
Giuseppe
