Can you connect FEXs to a N55-M16UP module installed in a Nexus 5596UP?

Hello,

I need to add some new FEXs to my 5596UPs and I am starting to run out of builtin ports.  I was looking at adding N55-M16UP expansion modules but I can't find any documentation on whether it supports FET-10Gs for uplinks to FEXs.  There was a note about 4.x not supporting it but I can't find anything about more recent releases.

Thanks,

Dan

Hi,

You can use the 10Gig ports on the module to connect to your FEXs as long as you are not reaching the limitation of FEXs connection to 5500 series.  They are just like any other port  on the switch.  Also since the module is "UP" it can be configured as Ethernet or FCOE.
