I have tried 192.168.1.245 and 192.168.1.1 with device connected directly to my PC. I am using as POE access point in my home. My Router is Motorola SMCD3DNV. I do not get a smooth signal when leaving the environment of one and entering the other device. Using my iPad, I have to turn off wifi then turn back on to get stronger signal from device I am closest to. Hoping latest firmware upgrade also may help somehow.

ticdoc1,

Can you clarify your question?

Are you using 2 different ips on one device or are those 2 separate devices?

Are both devices connected to the POE Access Point?

Do you have 1 wireless network setup or multiple?

Why are you changing the ips between 192.168.1.245 & 192.168.1.1?

Two devices.  Previous Cisco WRVS4400N was used as router and this stopped working so I started using my Motorola Modem/Router from Xfinity model SMCD3DNV.  I have Ethernet cable from this device to Ethernet power adaptor.  From the additional Ethernet Power adapter at the other end of my home I have an Ethernet connection to the WAP4410N which I am using as an access point.  Only using one IPS (Comcast/Xfinity) and only 1 wireless network.  I am not changing the IP address but am trying to determine what the IP address is of the latter device to download latest firmware and assure that information is correct to again have seamless WiFi signal throughout the home.
