Cannot create more than 1 mst instance

I've tried defining 2 mst instances in 3 separate topologies and only the first instance is showing up

under show spanning-tree mst 

I only see instance 0 (IST) and instance 1, and I am not able to see instance 2

I tried this again on 2 switches with 3 links, and 2 mst instances, amking sure revision number and domain name were equal in both mst configurations and yet again MST instance 2 is not showing up

Any advice as to why this may be happening?

hmm.... something is not ok;  Missing vlan instance 2 and looking at Root switch, yet all ports are blocking state.  if u look at show run , mst configs are ok ?   Are links trunks?

Its could be your image; bad image or it does not like (work) in gns3;

The problem seems to be persisting over different projects I'm working on, at this point I may come back at a later time to work on it

It works now, revision numbers and domain names were not matching up, or vlans were off on given instances
