Dear All,
I have problem with my nexus 5500,
Intervlan on my nexus not work,
i dont know why..
Before i have only this kind of license:
Feature Ins Lic Status Expiry Date Comments
Count
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
FCOE_NPV_PKG No - Unused -
FM_SERVER_PKG No - Unused -
ENTERPRISE_PKG Yes - Unused Never -
FC_FEATURES_PKG Yes - Unused Never -
VMFEX_FEATURE_PKG Yes - Unused Never -
ENHANCED_LAYER2_PKG No - Unused -
LAN_BASE_SERVICES_PKG No - Unused -
LAN_ENTERPRISE_SERVICES_PKG No - Unused -
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
and feature i used is :
- feature privilege
- feature telnet
- feature interface-vlan
- feature hsrp
- feature dhcp
- feature lldp
I make few vlan on nexus and then i check the interface status and the result is all vlan Interface is UP but intervlan is not work.
And then, i install license for LAN_BASE_SERVICES_PKG, this is result for install licensed:
Feature Ins Lic Status Expiry Date Comments

I used vlan configuration vlan before, but the interface VLAN is DOWN/DOWN.
and then i read this article:
http://www.layerzero.nl/blog/2012/10/nexus-5000-non-routable-vdc-mode/
Yes, thats solution work for 1 Vlan with "management" command on interface VLAN.
But, the other vlan is still DOWN. and Intervlan is not work to.
Anyone, can help me please?
I have experience configure Nexus 5000 with VPC, FEX, Storage, etc, and everything fine without isue in intervlan.
Thanks.

It looks like the L3 card is either not physically installed or is not recognized by the switch. It should show up in the "show module" output.
Here's the equivalent from one of my working Nexus 5500s:
CORE-A# show module
Mod Ports Module-Type Model Status
--- ----- --------------------------------- ---------------------- ------------
1 48 O2 48X10GE/Modular Supervisor N5K-C5596UP-SUP active *

Have you created the Layer 2 VLANs associated with the L3 SVIs? NX-OS, unlike IOS, does not automatically create the L2 VLAN when you build an SVI.

Marvin,
How to associate Layer 2 VLANs associated with L3 SVIs?
10-23-2013 09:23 PM
You don't need to take any special steps to associate them. Just make sure a matching layer 2 VLAN (which requires you supply at least a VLAN ID number) is created for each Layer 3 SVI you have created.
So something like:
conf t
vlan 2
name 2nd_VLAN
interface VLAN 2
description SVI for 2nd VLAN
ip address 192.168.1.1/24
no shut
end
copy r s

Marvin, sorry, you suggest has been try it before, but interVlan still not work.
10-24-2013 07:36 AM
I should have confirmed already - do you have the layer 3 hardware module installed?
(See Figure 8 here.)

That appears to be the correct part ordered. Can you please confirm part is installed and recognized?
The output of:
show module
show vlan brief
show ip interface brief
...would be most helpful.

Marvin,
This is the output.

So, Marvin what's your suggest?
Thanks for your support.. really appreciate it..
10-24-2013 08:55 AM
You're welcome.
I've you've confirmed visually that the module is physically installed, you'll need to open a TAC support case to get a new one shipped to replace it.

Hi,
So what was the end result? arikawahyono, did you have a bad L3 card or you simply did not have a L3 card installed?
I'm trying to find out if L3 card is required to do inter-vlan routing - not dynamical routing needed.
Steve

Because you have not L3 card
Make command to clear LAN Base license
clear license license_FOXYYYYYYYY_XX.lic
and interface will come up
