CAT 3524 Vs CAT2960 support switchport trunk encapsulation dot1q

Dear All,

I would like to know whether this command is supported by CAT2960 switches "switchport trunk encapsulation dot1q". I tried it is not working. Do we have any alternate for this?

Hi ,

The command is not valid.The switch will use by default dot1q.

After configuring the trunk interface you can verify using :

show interface x/y switchport | i Trunking Encapsulation

On Supported VLANs

The switch supports only IEEE 802.1Q trunking methods for sending VLAN traffic over Ethernet ports.
