I will need to upgrade the Rommon from the SUP-720 (=> to 122-18r.S1)
My question is:
Do I need to upgrade the Rommon from all CFC modules, by upgrading module per module and reboot them, module by module?
Or thas the SUP720 rommon upgrade will be enough?
Thanks for your answers.
Best regards
Christophe

Hi,
Usually, you don't need to upgrade the firmware for each module, unless there is an issue with the module or the IOS you want to run. If none of these applies, than just upgrading the Sup-720 Rommon is enough.

Hi,
As Reza mentioned, depends on your target IOS. I recently upgraded our core from 12.2 (17r) --> 12.2(33) and per IOS release notes, CEF720 on 67xx modules needs ROMMON upgrade to 12.2(18r). If that is the same case with you, then you need to individually upgrade each module first and then reset to boot with new ROMMON. Cisco got its own doc but I came across below link and helped alot in understanding the procedure.

Hi,
My target IOS is 12.2(33)SXi12, with the Rommon 12.2-18r.S1
So, I just would like to be sure if I need or not to upgrade module (6700-CFC) per module fisrt, or just install the Rommon for sup720-3B and the new IOS.

Modules first. If not, the new IOS may not recognise the modules with old (unsupported) ROMMON version.
Thx
