We want to add guest service to our wireless network(802.11).
Our controller connects directly to our core switch at the moment.
Our Internet service goes through a ADSL2 Modem.
Core sw ------ Controller
*****************Modem ------ Internet
Since our controller has only one physical port, it cannot
physically connect to the modem and we don't want to connect
the modem directly to our core switch, so we have to put a
device at the following position(see diagram below), which
will basically isolate the traffic between the modem
and core switch. In the future we will deploy firewall/IDS
appliance to protect the core switch.
Do you have any suggestions regarding this device?
Currently we are considering Catalyst 2960-8TC-L switch.
But not sure if it is the best solution.
************Controller
******************|
******************|
core sw ------ Device?()
******************|
******************|
****************Modem ------ Internet
Thank you in advance
