Hello ,
I Have a problem I'm trying to configure automatically my switch over ther DHCP
when I start the switch it request an IP from the DHCP from here everythings is fine but it does nothing more,
indeed I put on my dhcp the option 66 and 67 which is an adress of my TFTP server and a file to download and the switch seems not to understand theses options , I tried my dhcp with a cisco airport and everythings works fine the File from the TFTP is automatically downloaded into the airport...
There is an option to add or am I missing something in order to make it work with my switch ?
My switch : Catalyst 2960
IOS VER : 12.2(55)SE5
Many thanks for your help and answers I tried to make it clear.
Regards.

Hi,
can you post config as well as output from debug dhcp detail and also a diagram to see where the server is and what OS it is.

Hello thank you ,
What do you mean by posting an output from debug DHCP there is a command to type in ?
For the diagram :
the switch that I want to configure via dhcp is connected to another one which is connected to my network Backbone.
I tried the port in Acces mode or Trunk with the Vlan where My scoope DHCP is created and nothing's working except the IP assignement. :
*Mar 1 00:01:45.411: %DHCP-6-ADDRESS_ASSIGN: Interface Vlan1 assigned DHCP address 10.20.17.54 mask 255.255.255.0, hostname Switch
The os where the DHCP is installed is a Windows server 2008 R2

Hi,
Your TFTP server option on the DHCP server should be 150

I've had a few issues with this as well.
There are a couple of caveats that you need to ensure are configured correctly.
1. I could not get the switch to take the Option 150 information handed out by the DHCP server. Instead I used a helper-address on the switch's management VLAN pointed at the TFTP server.
2. Make sure to have the boot commands in place: "boot host dhcp" otherwise nothing will happen.
3. Ensure that the cisconet.cfg file is populated with a list of IP to Hostname correlations.
4. At this point the switch should be asking your TFTP server for the file based on the hostname it is configured with.
