Catalyst 3550 IPV6?

I upgraded a couple of 3550's to the latest 12.2(44)SE2 IP Services code recently and noticed IPV6 commands were available. I thought they might be visible but not accepted however they are accepted and when it is globally enabled (ipv6 unicast-routing) and IPV6 addresses are configured on interfaces I get an IPV6 routing table. I am pretty sure there was nothing in the release notes about IPV6, so is this a mistake or has IPV6 been added to the Catalyst 3550 (which is EOL).

One of those things when software releases are shared among different platforms.

I recommend disabling IPv6 on that system if it's used on production as it is running in software, not hardware.

The switch's SDM template has no allocation for IPv6 routes.
