Catalyst 3560 Ethernet Ports not functional in Rommon Mode

In order to recovery the switch, I have to use the xmodem protocol to upload the ios image to flash as opposed to tftp via the Ethernet Ports. What could be the reason why the ports are not functioning in Rommon Mode ?

Because it's in ROMmon mode. In ROMmon, the system doesn't know it's got "hands and legs".

Hey Leo,
How do I tell the switch to use it's Ethernet Ports for IOS Transfer in Rom Mode ?

You can't and it won't.
The "instructions" about the ethernet ports are found in the IOS itself.
The only way to hasten the upload speed is to use the "-s <SPEED>" (see instructions below) to increase the baud rate.

Xmodem Console Download Procedure Using ROMmon

Are you sure this is a "plain" 3560 and not a 3560E or a 3560X?

So, what your saying is that I'll have to utilize the console cable to do an ios upload and manipulate the (baud rate) transfer speed. Because the boot loader does not have the ability to activate the Ethernet Ports
