Hi dear Cisco Community Members
Please Let me to open a new issue for stackable Catalyst 9300 and its Uplink Network module (C9300-NM-8X).
We have one stack of 4xC9300 switch members, each one with an additional Uplink Network module (C9300-NM-8X).
With the "sh running-conf" command we can see next output:
!
interface GigabitEthernet4/1/1
interface GigabitEthernet4/1/2
interface GigabitEthernet4/1/3
interface GigabitEthernet4/1/4
!
interface TenGigabitEthernet4/1/1
interface TenGigabitEthernet4/1/2
interface TenGigabitEthernet4/1/3
interface TenGigabitEthernet4/1/4
interface TenGigabitEthernet4/1/5
interface TenGigabitEthernet4/1/6
interface TenGigabitEthernet4/1/7
interface TenGigabitEthernet4/1/8
!
interface FortyGigabitEthernet4/1/1
interface FortyGigabitEthernet4/1/2
!
interface TwentyFiveGigE4/1/1
interface TwentyFiveGigE4/1/2
!
As you can see, there are different combinations depending on the port speed (1,10,20,40 GB) or the SFP we insert:
My question is the following: Is there any limitation regarding copper port SFPs? That is, could I have a combination of 8 copper ports (SFP) or 6 copper SFPs and the other two of 10, 20 or 40Gb?
Has anyone in the community had experience with combining ports with this Uplink Network module (C9300-NM-8X)?
Is there any document or link that comments on the possible combinations?
With my best regards
Thanks in advance
Hann

You're welcome @Hannibal
No limitation about the number of ports with copper SFPs inserted.

Hello @Hannibal
10G/25G SFP work with C9300-NM-2Y Module.
C9300-NM-8X support 1G/10G only. "Any combination of SFP and SFP+ modules are supported."

Thanks MO, what you're telling me is very important. So, could I fill the 8 ports of the Network Module C9300-NM-8X with copper SFPs for 1GB? Or is there a limitation on the number of ports with copper SFPs inserted?
We have this doubt about whether we could use at least 6 of the 8 ports with copper SFPs (UTP cable) o Or even insert copper SFPs in the 8 ports?
This issue is for hardware support or a capability issue for the C9300-NM-8X (There is a maximum number of GB supported)?
Thank you again, MO
Best regards
Hann
