Hello Guys,
I'm trying to configure 6 brand new Catalyst 9300 in stack. But I'm not able to access the privileged exec via console.
For some reason they request enable password. I've configured multiple 9300 before but the never requested password during the initial setup. Do you have any idea what is the default one ? I found some info for using serial number of the chasis as pass, but it doesnt work as well.

Hi,
If you don't have an enable password, try and reset the switch using this link:

I'm aware how to make password recovery. That's not the case.

Hi @Palazsto
Also never heard about default credential for cisco IOS or IOS-XE. What I read on the doc it that on the version 17, you need to put a password during the configuration wizard.
Probably this switch was handled before and someone put a password there.
That being said, the only option I see now is factory reset it.
Mandatory enable secret password in the initial configuration |
For a device that loads with no start-up configuration, the enable secret password is now a mandatory configuration in the initial configuration wizard. |
