Change MST Configuraton Instance

hi,

just a quick question, i need to re-edit my MST instance config which includes the switch management VLAN.

will i lose remote access if i make the change or is it a safe straightforward change?

would it be better if i start changing on the access switch and configure last the collapsed core/distro switch?

Hi,

Not sure what you are trying to edit, but If you simply adding or deleting a vlan from an existing MST instance, it should not have any effect on the rest of the infrastructure.

i just want to move the management VLAN (say, VLAN 99) from instance 1 to instance 2.

so to edit, do i:

spanning-tree mst configuration

no instance 1 vlan 1, 2, 99

no instance 2 vlan 3, 4

instance vlan 1, 2

instance 2 vlan 3, 4, 99
