Change Nexus 7.x devices SNMP behavior

Hello  Experts,

My query is related to Cisco Nexus devices running with OS version 7.x where we observed a change in the Nexus device's SNMP behavior.

The actual version observed in the customer environment is - Cisco NX-OS (Cisco NX-OS(tm) n7000, Software
(n7000-s2-dk9), Version 7.3(5)D1(1), RELEASE SOFTWARE Copyright (c) 2002-2013,
2015 by Cisco Systems, Inc. Compiled 9/30/2019 21:00:00)

Prior to 7.x version, all the FEX were reported by the hosting node (main device not by its VDCs). With this OS version, we are seeing that FEX information is not reported by the main device but the VDC node. FEX information was reported by main device in earlier versions.

We look for cefexConfigExtenderName (.1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.691.1.1.2.1.1) to discover FEX on the device and expect that to be reported by main nexus device and that worked all this while until customer reported the problem with 7.x.

Could you please help to understand changes that are made in 7.x version of Nexus that was not in prior OS versions of Nexus?

This will help us to make changes in our network management tool and help customer manage their Nexus 7.x devices.

Regards,

Shikha
