Can someone please refresh me as to what the command is to change the Native VLAN for the entire switch? (IE: not just on the trunk, I mean the default native for the entire switch). Thanks

This made me giggle a little bit because I always have to stop myself and say, "Did you check the little things yet?"
Try a crossover cable between the two switches.

We create a new Vlan and then we change the native Vlan and shut it down for security reasons:
vlan 999
name Down
shutdown
then go to the trunk interface:
interface G0/1
switchport trunk native vlan 999
