Is this the correct analysis of what STP would determine are the port roles/states? Switch 1 is at default priority of 32768.

That's what I was missing..."Select root port on non-root bridge" is the next step after determining the root bridge.
Most of the examples are very simple so I needed to make a more complex topology to really test my understanding. By adding more switches, I got a little confused/distracted and forgot the fundamentals.
I'll continue to practice until this becomes "second nature"
