Cisco 1841 behaves improperly

Hi,

Just got 1841 a month ago and just started configuring it. It boots til to Router> mode but when you made changes and if you reload it once it reboots it won't get to Router> mode, POST just looping back the CF card works fine on my other 1841 router, I checked the cookie values everything's normal, even if you set it to default config register value like 0x2102.

Anyone had a same issue as mine before? any cents would be greatly appreciated. Thanking you guys in advance.

Cheers,

Paul

Paul,

Something could be wrong but one question... if the router won't boot to router> by itself then how are you making the router boot properly to make configuration changes?

Federico.

when it boots from the start it gets to Router> prompt but when you made changes and reload it, it wont boot to flash card it will just loops back like this:

Router>en
Router#reload
Proceed with reload? [confirm]

Hi

Can you format the flash and upload the IOS back onto it and try reloading the router? Backup both the configs and the IOS before you start this excercise.

regds

Hi Paul,

1. Please remove all existing IOS from the flash.
2. Upload new IOS
3. Set the boot flash to new IOS
4. Give write mem command
5. Once again make sure the config register set to correct one

Hope you will fix the issue after all above done.

Regards,
Naidu.
