After the System bootstap version information I get a error that the router halts on.
SPD info: Invalid memory type for DIMM 00000000.
The router halts there. Does this mean the DRAM is bad or the wrong type for the router?
thanks,
Jer

This could mean:
- The DIMM is not seated correctly in the slot. Check RAM, remove and reseat correctly.
- Wrong type for the router.
- Faulty RAM.
You need to replace the RAM in the last two cases.

I removed the ram and reinstalled it a few times with no improvement.
Im guessing the ram is either faulty or the wrong type .
Thanks for the response.

Check your RAM against the RAM on this side:

Can you mix memory chips in a 2600? I needed a little more for my IOS so I pulled an 8 MB chip from one router and added to a 32 MB chip and it won't take it.(Invalid memory type for Dimm 00000000) If I order some new extra memory, does it have to match the one that's already in there? Please advise...
Thanks,
Chris
