I am facing a serious issue with my Cisco Catalyst 2960S switch where the flash memory is corrupted. I am unable to format, copy an IOS image, or access the flash storage properly.

Switch Model:

  • Model: Cisco Catalyst 2960S
  • Current ROMMON Mode Status

If what @marce1000 suggested doesn't help, you might be in the situation where the hardware will need to be replaced.

Another possible alternative would be to determine if the switch can perform a network boot, and if it does, use that if desperate to avoid replacing it.

BTW, I recall some time (years) back, Cisco documented a hardware defect on some platforms (lower end?) that was hardware age related and encountered by a restart of the platform.
