Cisco 3650 and 2960 in Stack question

Hello, we are needing to add one of our older switches temporarily to support new users. I was reading that switches with different major versions will be incompatible and get a version mismatch in stack mode. The 3650 is currently running IOS XE ver 3.6.3E and the 2650 is running IOS 12.2(55)SE8. Is it possible to stack these switches with stackwise cables? My immediate feeling is no but I was wondering if there was any other possibilities.

I have it trunked to one of the other switches in the meantime.

Thanks and best regards

You probably mean a 2950.  Absolutely no way.

You can simply connect them together though (non stacked).  You just need to configure the 2950 separately, since it wont stack.

Hi,

Yes you are correct. You cannot stack 3650 with 2650 in the same stack at this point of time.
