Hi All,
We currently have x2 Cisco 3750 stacked as a collapsed core, we would like to introduce and another switch into the stack but keep reading conflicting information on the best way how to-do this:
Either Connect it HOT, or power of the switches, connect the switches and bring them back up
I would like to follow the HOT method as it is a production unit, so before if do-so wanted to get your opinions
Thanks in advance

Hi, to do this hot:
check te switch priorities of the switches in the stack.
Make sure switch 1 gets or has lets say prio 15
Make sure switch 2 get or has a lower prio, like 13.
Pre configure the new switch with prio 11 (or lower)
Now hook it up.
Because of the switch priorities (prio 15 will be master) , a stack master recalc will not happen and you can do this live.
I did this hookup without any downtime.

Tom,
Follow this link to add a switch to your stack.
I would recommend doing it in an outage windows as you never know what can go wrong
