Lots and lots (and lots) of possibilities.  Most common issues are something is defective, something isn't supported, something is misconfigured.

If you provide the information requested by the other posters, possibly we can narrow possibilities to only lots and lots.

If problem isn't obvious, such as whatever isn't supported, troubleshooting often requires comparing to other working similar solutions, such as the does SFP port work with another SFP transceiver, does SFP transceiver work in another SFP port, etc.

now not responding in gui
only connecting through PUTTY
