Hi Guys,

One of my switch unit suddenly lose the PoE capability. Switch type is WS-C3850-24XU. Below is the output when I do some checking.

Here is the comparison on the normal switch.

Is it possible the PoE feature just turned off for some reason? Thanks.

Hi Marce,

Yes, here is the log I found on the switch.

%PLATFORM_STACKPOWER-4-BISP_PORT_A_SC: Switch 2 experienced a short-circuit BISP event on port 1

                             - FYI : https://bst.cloudapps.cisco.com/bugsearch/bug/CSCtj52215

Whether the bug report matches or not , consider using the latest advisory software release for the 3850 and check if that can help

Hello,

are both the working and the non-working unit running the same IOS-XE version ?

Release Gibraltar-16.12.5b MD is the recommended release...

Hi Georg,

Yes, both switch are the same type and running the same OS, 16.3.7. Even they are on the same stack.

  1. What is the exact IOS-XE version is the switch/stack running on?
  2. What is the uptime of each switch member?
  3. Are there any SFP/SFP+ optics installed?
