Hi there,
I'm configuring a Cisco 3945 router and chose a PoE 16 port switch module. I configured also a two DC power supply but it seems that the DC power supply doesn't support this module as it says in the configuration:
Please note that a POE power supply is not selected with your POE service module.
so, should I choose the PoE Power supply (PWR-3900-POE) Cisco 3925/3945 AC Power Supply with Power Over Ethernet???
and could I use the DC power supply with my PoE 16 port switch module??
Please advice,
Regards,
Abdallah

You are correct Abdallah. The PoE power supply is required to be able to supply the necessary power that the PoE module uses. The DC power supply is not supported by Cisco to provide POE on the 3945.
Also, note, the PoE power supply on the Cisco 3900 Series requires a C15-rated power cable to accommodate the higher current rating of these power supplies.
