Cisco 4500 and redundant supervisors possible problem

Hi. I have a Cisco 4500 switch with two supervisor modules. The modules are supposed to be in failover state but I get the following results when entering sh module and sh redundancy states:

sh module

Mod Ports Card Type Model Serial No.

---+-----+--------------------------------------+------------------+-----------

1 2 Supervisor II+ 1000BaseX (GBIC) WS-X4013+ xxxxx

2 Supervisor

sh redundancy states

my state = 13 -ACTIVE

peer state = 1 -DISABLED

Mode = Simplex

Unit = Primary

Unit ID = 1

Redundancy Mode (Operational) = Non Redundant

Redundancy Mode (Configured) = RPR

Split Mode = Disabled

Manual Swact = Disabled Reason: Simplex mode

Communications = Down Reason: Simplex mode

client count = 22

client_notification_TMR = 240000 milliseconds

keep_alive TMR = 9000 milliseconds

keep_alive count = 0

keep_alive threshold = 18

RF debug mask = 0x0

It was my belief that the second supervisor should be recognized right away. Could this indicate that the second supervisor module isn't working correctly?

peer state = 1 -DISABLED

This indicates that second supervisor is either not present or hadn't booted up.

Mode = Simplex

This specifies that chassis is not in redundancy.

Check if the second sup is in ROMMon and bring it up.
