I was looking into Cisco 4500-X series switches and didn't see any support for 40Gb Line Card. Will Cisco introduce 40Gb or 100Gb linecard support in the future. I didn't see anything on the roadmap.
Cisco is adding 40G Ethernet to its Catalyst 6500 switching line, and 40/100G Ethernet to its Nexus 7000 switch to aggregate 40G at the core, and interconnect data centers to service providers.
