Hello dear all cisco expterts

We decided to buy cisco 4510R+E switch with tow sup 7E suprevisor. Now I'm little confiussed about IOS order.

My goal is to have an IOS that could support  crypto (k9) feature for ssh

also want to have ip base feature set on both of supervisors. also want vss for future plan.

I have two question:

Question Number 1:

For cover all of above features i found that i must have the following ios image:

IOS image    as i found this part number

S45EUK9-34-1512SG

cat4500e-universalk9.SPA.03.04.00.SG.151-2.SG.bin

and i understand  that for feature set i must buy appropriate license

I guess the default super visor engine have lan base feature set and maybe i should buy

lanbase to ip base upgrade. like the following

C4500E-LB-IPB   ( LAN BASE to IP BASE upgrade license (paper delivery)

Or

i should buy this part number ? C4500E-IPB (IP BASE software license (paper delivery) ?

Which one is true ?

-------------------------------------------------------------

Question Number 2:

As i have two supervisior 7E for having HA features like nfs and sso

Should i order two Image file and two license file ?

Or

could i order just one and use it for both of them ?

Thanks for your attention

Best Regards

Hi,

Before purchasing the license, talk to your sales rep, as sometimes the switch comes with IP base, if not you don't need to order the paper license.  All you need is an electronic version that will be send to you by e-mail.  You then loaded it on the switch and installed it.

Since only one sup is active at any time and the other one is on stand-by, you only pay for one image and one license, but loaded it to both sups.
