Cisco 6500 VSS with unequal number of modules

Hi,

I have a VSS config with unequal number of switching modules as follows;

Switch 1

-------------

VS-SUP2T-10G (2x VSL)

WS-X6704-10GE

WS-X6748-GE-TX

Switch 2

-------------

VS-SUP2T-10G (2x VSL)

WS-X6704-10GE

Will VSS work if the WS-X6748-GE-TX is missing on switch 2?

Yes your VSS will be OK.

When you implement VSS your interfaces have an additional prefix added to their allocations.

G1/19 in chassis 1 will become G1/1/19

G1/19 in chassis 2 will become G2/1/19

etc etc
