Hello,m

i have the following in my stock :

1x 6504E with full fan and trays

2x WS-X6704-10GE with DFC3CXL daughter card

2 x WS-SUP720-3CXL

The SUP720-3CXL datasheet shows it has 1G Dram and support 1M ipv4 Routes and 500K IPv6 routes, as i know ipv4 bgp full table takes around 700-800mbps ram , so does it support to keep both ipv4 and ipv6 full table? i have 3x BGP Peer with full IPv4/IPv6 table, am i ok if i want to establish bgp with full ipv4/ipv6 table?

Thank you.

Hello,

I would say 1GB is not enough. Keep in mind that the memory is not only used for routing and route processing, but for other stuff as well.

As far as I recall, how many routes a full BGP table consists of also depends on your ISP, and how route aggregation is configured there.

That said, why would you need a full BGP table ? What is the function of your switch in your topology ?
