hi all,

does anyone encountered this problem ?

there   was this router cisco 815 that i consoled. i cannot go into its  priviledge mode. even typing enable still cant go to its # mode. whats  the problem with this router? how am i able to fix it? its initial  problem was it cannot carry more pc client anymore.. 815 series has a 4  switch port at its back and a wan port.

the 4 switch port cannot acess the internet if connected to 4 pc clients. how am i able to fix this problem? thanks

Operation

First, you must set ROMmon environment variables prior to the TFTP download. All variable names are case sensitive.

You can view the ROMmon environment variables by using the set command, as shown here:

rommon 3 > set 
    PS1=rommon ! > 
    IP_ADDRESS=172.18.16.76 
    IP_SUBNET_MASK=255.255.255.192 
    DEFAULT_GATEWAY=172.18.16.65 
    TFTP_SERVER=172.18.16.2 
    TFTP_FILE=quake/rel22_Jan_16/c2600-i-mz

from the given example, where did we get the IP address? IP Subnetmask? Default gateway? tftp server ip? and tftp file? thanks

Your router is not operational right now, can you turn it off and on and upload output which will show on screen?

You can try type >boot to boot IOS image, but there will be probably some problem.

No, I ment to upload text which you see on console after router is turned on. There will be probably reason which router do not boot IOS and end up in rommon mode.
