Cisco 887w Service module issue

I am trying to configure the wireless part on the cisco 887w router.

I am unable to enter the service module. I tried searching for answers in this forum, every answer is related to configuring the service module part, not related to accessing the service module.

I am trying to configure the wireless network on the same LAN VLAN 200, so i gave the command ip unnumbered vlan 200 and started the service module.

// r1#service-module wlan-ap 0 session
Trying 10.10.1.20, 2002 ... Open

Connecting to AP console, enter Ctrl-^ followed by x,
then "disconnect" to return to router prompt //

After this the whole thing just hangs, I cant even disconnect using control shift 6 and x.

I also tried creating a separate vlan for the wireless interface and separate ip, but still cant access the service module.

Gives the same error.

Help needed.

Hi

Try reset the session first and check the status as well

service-module wlan-ap0 status

service-module wlan-ap0 reset

if that does not work you could default it , this will wipe it

service-module wlan-ap0 reset default-config

After i apply the above commands, i get the following as the status

Service Module is Cisco wlan-ap0
Service Module supports session via TTY line 2
Service Module is trying to recover from error
Service Module reset on error is disabled
Service Module heartbeat-reset is enabled
Service Module is in fail open
Service Module status is not available

now it says

Service Module is Cisco wlan-ap0
Service Module supports session via TTY line 2
Service Module is trying to recover from reset/shutdown
Service Module reset on error is disabled
Service Module heartbeat-reset is enabled
Service Module is in fail open
Service Module status is not available

and now it says

Service Module is Cisco wlan-ap0
Service Module supports session via TTY line 2
Service Module is failed
Service Module reset on error is disabled
Service Module heartbeat-reset is enabled
Service Module is in fail open
Service Module status is not available

Honestly it sounds as if its gone faulty and may need to be replaced , they do go

could try this below or reload whole router as well in outage window incase its just locked up , other than that I would raise it with Cisco maybe get an RMA if it wont come online
