Cisco 891 Router - Fan Noise

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone with an 891 router can comment on it's fan noise. I just got one, and the fan seems extremely loud to me. When I first boot it up, I hear a super loud fan noise, then it settles into a fairly loud hum. Any input is greatly appreciated!

Yes and this is normal.  During power-up or boot-up the appliance goes into POST.

Wait `til you hear an ASR boot up and you'll mistakenly think that a 737 has just taken off next to you!

Yes, mine is fairly loud.

I bought the 891W for my home office and it is noticably louder than a  standard 3750 PoE switch.

I have a 3750 Gig E with the largest power supply in the same room for testing. I don't have it on all the time, but the 891W is almost as loud.

It almost seems as if the fan bearings are going bad, or something is loose.
