Cisco 891 W DNS configuration with Comcast

Hi Tac,

I am trying to configure a 891 W to basically provide DNS from my ISP to my internal clients on the 891 W. Currently when I am on a PC I can see that I recieve my IP information along with the correct ISP DNS IPs. However when I try to connect or resolve a URL it fails. Nor can I perform an nslookup from the cli of the 891 W. I seem to be having a translation issue with DNS.

Sincerely,

Hi Eric,

Do you have these 2 commands on the router?

Example:

ip domain name abc.com

ip name-server xx.xxx.xx.xx (ISP's DNS)

HTH

Hi ,

I do have the DNS entries of my ISPs IP but not the domain name abc.com I wouldnt know what to reference with that command being Comcast. I went ahead and added comcast.net. I am able to recieve the IP address from Comcast via DHCP but I still cannot resolve any URLs. I have attached my config for your review.

Sincerely,
