My network is half managed by me and half managed by my accounting software company. They own most of the hardware, except my Sonicwall firewall. The other day i upped my internet speeds from Optimum to 101/50. My network though is getting like half that, around 40/20 maybe a little more on a good day. I troubleshooted the whole thing down to it being the accounting software company's router. Its a Cisco 891F router. They are telling me that this router is't capable of anything above 50mbps download and i should be happy i get above 30mbps with overhead. I checked around, and it looks like its totally capable of 101/50, but before i go back to the guy i am hoping you guys can confirm or deny if he is right or i am right.

Read THIS. At it's best, the 890 can push up to 51 Mbps in a single direction (either upload or download) and without encryption.
For 100 Mbps, you need to be looking at a 2921 or a 2951.

Using 891F with NAT + ZoneBased FW + QoS. getting over 100Mbit/s down with no problems at all. Cant tell about upload as my ISP is limiting me at 12Mbit.
When getting the router pushed to 100Mbit download, CPU load gets up to 60-65%. Given that, I guess there is still some room for higher rates at least with feature set I'm using.
Hope this will help you further!
PS: please do not mix the old 891 and the new 891F. The 891F is completely different HW.

". . . is the Cisco 891F router capable of more then 50mbps speeds?"
Yes it is, although your mileage (performance) might vary (a lot). See attachment (look for the 890 series in various tables) for all the details. Note especially that Cisco recommends the 890 for only up to 15 Mbps (WAN - duplex).
For 101/50, you should look for a more powerful router than an 890 model.
