Hi Team,
I'm confused and i need your help please.
I need to replace the Line-Card WS-X4612-SFP-E with the WS-X4724-SFP-E on a switch in a production Network to add more ports.
Do i need port reconfiguration for the new line-card to be operational ?
Should I perform hot swap or cold swap ?
Thanks for your help.

Yes because both line cards are different (port density).

Copy the config to an external location.
Put insert the new line cards.
Re-apply the configuration for the slot onlye

Hi Leo,
Thanks for your reply.
I'm afraid of maybe some config corruption or IOS or somethings else.
So, what are the step to follow for me to avoid interuption in production.
NB: Please note that, i need to replace 2 Line-cards on two switches with VSS configures.
