Good Day,
To start with. My company was obligated to upgrade its firmware. In this instance it was for the Cisco 2960 XR 24P switch. When upgraded the system light came on and the switch failed to operate properly. We attempted to rollback the upgrade from firmware version c2960x-universalk9-mz.152-7.E11 to the original c2960x-universalk9-mz.152-7.E6 but was unsuccessful.
As well, another issue experienced lies with the Cisco 9200L where every time a SFP is added to one of the 1G ports it disables and gives an ERRDISABLE message. Nothing is connected to the switch however it gives this error message.

- In both cases , check logs on the devices for more info's

as for the 2960, you may have to do a TAC to replace if you have support. We had a 3850 fail to program an ASIC and brick itself years ago.
For the 9200L, I would check the compatibility matrix here to make sure it supports the SFP.
Not sure if this is needed on newer switches, but there was the old unsupported transceivers.

Is it true that running the transceiver command voids Cisco support? 1G to 10G SFP
Keep in mind these points before you consider this to be a hardware issue with the SFP, sub-module (C3850-NM), or Catalyst 3850 backplane.
3850(config)# no errdisable detect cause gbic-invalid
3850(config)# service unsupported-transceiver

not really, unless the transceiver is the issue. They obviously won't support 3rd party. But we have support and use a ton of 3rd party like F5 has to be theirs or they won't support it etc.

What is the exact error message or post the complete output to the command "sh interface status err".

Console into the switch and reboot.
Post the entire boot-up process.
