Hello,

I try to updgrade a stack of two 3750X-48PS to the IOS 15.0-2

Same commande has the twelves others stack I have upgrade lately

archive download-sw /overwrite tftp://x.x.x.x/c3750e-universalk9-tar.150-2.SE.tar

or

archive download-sw /overwrite usbflash0:/3750/c3750e-universalk9-tar.150-2.SE.tar (much faster!)

At the end I have this message :

extracting c3750e-universalk9-mz.150-2.SE/info (511 bytes)

extracting c3750e-universalk9-mz.150-2.SE/c3750e-universalk9-mz.150-2.SE.bin (19842267 bytes)

%Error writing flash2:update/c3750e-universalk9-mz.150-2.SE/c3750e-universalk9-mz.150-2.SE.bin (No space left on device)

%Error opening flash2:update/info (Bad file number)

Error: Unable to extract image for switch 2.  Some systems may

Error: have been left in an inconsistent state.

Any ideas ? I include the content of the flash drive of both switch

Hi,

%Error opening flash2:update/info (Bad file number)

You may have some some bad sectors on your flash.

Try erasing and formatting the flash and then try loading IOS 15 again.

HTH

Hi,

I try it on ma stack in test, it work. I will keep you inform if it work to on the stack which is in production. Suppose to update next tuesday february 5 th. Thanks agin.

Hi LUC,

Just want to know if I can use below command on my 3750X stacks

Switch# archive download-sw /overwrite tftp://1.1.1.2/c3750e-ipbasek9-mz.150-2.SE8.bin

will it upgrade all the swithces in the stacks?

Can I use .bin file instead of .tar with the same command syntax? ( switches are currently running .bin image)

BR,

Umer

Achive command are use with tar file only. For .bin file, just copy your file to all your switch with copy tftp flash1:, copy tftp flash2:, copy tftp flash3:, ... You can also copy from switch 1 to switch 2. copy flash1:image.bin flash2:

Don't forget to change the boot system.

Hi,

The solution is ok. I erase flash, format flash: and format flash2

After I download the IOS image with archive command.

No problem. It can be done live as long as your switch are on UPS. You don't want to loose electricity when your flash memory are empty of IOS. Better do it in the early in the morning since you have to reboot switch to charge the new IOS in memory.

Thanks again.
