Cisco IE 1000

Aloha!  I have a Cisco IE 1000 (industrial grade switch) and would like to set the default "Admin" account password but it says I can't do it because I didn't enter a username, and that's because it is grayed out, so you can't enter a UserName.

the default username is blank, and the default password is 'cisco'.

Have you tried the Express Setup as described in the document below ?

sorry, I replied a week or so ago but I guess that doesn't work.  Yes, I have tried the express setup a few times, and even reset the switch to factory defaults, it always responds the same way.  also, when I run the express setup, the GUI suppose to have a place to enter a new password, and that is missing.  the pamphlet shows how it should look but it doesn't match.  I'm also on firmware 1.3 which I think is the latest.
