Cisco Instant Access with 6880X Switch

Hello everybody,

does anyone know, if it possible to connect the 6800ia switches with 2*1Gigabit uplink to a 6880X Chassis via Instant Access or is a 10G link required ? 

The problem for using 10G is that we only have Multimode OM2-3 infrastructure installed and cable length might be to high.

Hi Steffen,

10Gig connectivity over OM2 or OM3 with MM fiber should not be an issue.

What is the distance?

Hi,

We used 10G over OM3 with no issues. Just make sure the cable runs are within spec. 300M for OM3 and 400 for OM4...

I also seem to think that I have read somewhere that you may use 1G uplinks...will see if I can confirm, but you can always try it...if you have the SFPs...
