Hello ,

we are using Cisco Catalyst 9300 as below in install mode and we have  completely classical routing features etc.   As we want to upgrade on Cisco Portal we have no more IOS Image  with same Bengaluru series.

I believe now we  have option to upgrade with recommended  release (cat9k_iosxe.17.15.03.SPA.bin) in bundel mode only ... Right?  Is there any valid reference for updgrade procedure.

your installed software already in ISNTALL Mode - just to clarity you like to go back to Bundle mode ?

read the release notes and check the upgrade steps :

https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/switches/lan/catalyst9300/software/release/17-15/release_notes/ol-17-15-9300.html#upgrading-the-switch-software

Noes :

1. take the backup out of the box

2. give enough maintenance time to switch to reboot to get new version active.

3. collect the Logs and upgrade logs in case any issue occur when you upgrade.

4. Prepare for recovery plan in case anything go wrong

Thanks. It is not necessary to go bundle mode. I believe only difference of procedure. right?

Secondly my question is that Cisco IOSXE 17.15 has only now generic release instead of Bengaluru / Dublin etc after 17.12 release. right?

Big thanks

every version IOS XE has different naming, so you do not worry about the name, Looks for stable and no bug effecting your environment before upgrade.

Hello @uni1389

Can you please check this link : https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/switches/lan/catalyst9300/software/release/17-15/release_notes/ol-17-15-9300.html

You do not need to switch to bundle mode for using 17.15.xx - image supports install mode/recommendation.

Thanks !

Why not just upgrade to the recommended version in install mode? Should be fine.
