Cisco Nexus 7700 M3 F3

I recently upgraded to version 8.2(1).  I then installed an M3 card after the upgrade for an M3 and F3 mixture in the chassis.

I know F3 supports layer 3 functionality, however M3 is more of a layer 3 card.  If the M3 card fails or i remove it, what effect will that have on routing if any?  By effect I mean noticeable downtime.

If the M3 card fails and there is nothing connected to it, then there is no impact. If there is another device connected to the M3 card and if it fails then that device will be offline.

So the "routing" responsibilities for the chassis are not handled by the M3 card?

My concern was outage if the routing of the chassis was tied to the M3 card.
