I have a Nexus currently running on code 7.0(3)I7(4). I performed an EPLD upgrade on the required modules. The fabric modules were successfully upgraded. The line cards (N9K-X97160YC-EX) was successfully upgraded too. However, when I ran the command "show version module 1 epld". The module is still running on the old version. I would like to know the cause of such behavior. On the other hand, the aforesaid modules failed the diagnostics as well. Moreover, What would be a better practice for EPLD upgrades on the nexus 9504?

Hello,
what is the output of:
show install epld status

Hi,
Please see below output for the EPLD status. You may notice the EPLD upgrade on module 1 is successful and the current version is 0x11. however, when you run "show version module 1 epld" command, the IO FPGA on module 1 is running the old version.
show install epld status

What if you reload the module, is it still showing the old version ?

I tried reloading the module, still shows the old version. I went back and forth with different EPLD images. The EPLD upgrade is successful. But, the new version doesn't apply to the affected module.

Hello,
odd. Sounds like some sort of bug. What does:
show install all impact epld x
show (where x is the image name) ?
09-26-2018 11:28 AM
Shows an upgrade is required even after an EPLD upgrade .I didn't have the same issue with the fabric modules/
show install all impact epld bootflash:n9000-epld.7.0.3.I7.4.img
Retrieving EPLD versions.... Please wait.

Hello,
check if:
show install all impact
indicates whether the BIOS needs an upgrade...

Doesn't require an upgrade
