Cisco NX-OS Login Prompt / Control Keys

Hello!

We have a Nexus 7000 chassis.  At the login prompt, any use of the control characters (such as CTRL+H for backspace) appear as litteral text output into the login prompt.  Example:

"login: ^H^H^H^H^H^H^H

Backspace and other control characters work as normal once the system is logged in.  This affects the login/password prompt only.

We're aware that delete will actually backspace if there's an error, but we'd like to know how to at least prevent control characters showing up in the login prompt, if not make them work as normal/expected.

Many thanks!!

What terminal program are you using? In putty, you can try changing the following

i would prefer you use Putty..

@Colby Beam  - Thanks, that does help with the backspace problem (rated), thank you.  I am also looking to see how to prevent control keys from creating text in the login prompt in general, if possible, so any ideas on that would be greatly appreciated

Many thanks!
