Cisco Port ASA 5505 Reset Port

Am I missing something? I press the reset button and hold it and it does not reset the unit. I tried for 30 seconds. I tried with it on and with it off. I saw a post saying the reset button is completely useless and you have to use console. Is that true?

Oh it was booting into rommon so that's why the graphical interface is not working. However, the enable password is not blank, and the reset button isn't resetting it. So, I'm still stuck. I think I can do a password recovery, but can anyone confirm if the reset button actually does anything?
