Cisco Port Dark, other end other eth cable is green

Hello all.  I have an issue I am trying to work out.  I am still crawling when it comes to networking, so I hope this isn't a dumb question.  I have a switch that is showing activity on it.  It is flashing green.  The other end of the cable goes into another cisco switch, but the port is dark.  I did verify it is the same cable, but I cannot understand how one switch shows a connection, but the other end doesn't.  Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,

Can you make sure the port on the switch that is dark is not shut?

if the port is shut you will see it in the running config.

"sh run int x/x" will show you that.

Sorry for the delay.  I initially thought that port security was activated, but I never swapped out pcs, so I knew that wasn't it.  The port does not show shut.  Believe it or not, Due to my unique situation working on army aviation simulators, the trouble ended up being a corrupt HD in another pc.  I appreciate everyone's quick response to my question.  It can be very hard to troubleshoot my equipment with others who do not know the setup.  We also lost lab support, so all of us techs need to be masters of everything, and that is not so easily done.

Maybe due a burned LED? if you see the interface up, that is probably it.
