Laptop-----IP Phone-----Switch. while I unplugged Laptop and plug in another port in same switch (4506 with SUP II plus) MAC  automatically flushes the Laptop MAC in old port and taking the same MAC in new port without Aging. But in 4501R MAC is not flushing without aging time.I want to know whether Port secuirty is dependant with Hardware Architecture....

pls help...

hi,

there's a command which can set the aging time for the MAC address table. nothing to do with the switch hardware. i suspect your 4501R's aging time is disabled (set to 0). could you post both 4510R's and 4506's output as per below?

Switch#sh run | i aging

Both Switches Aging time is 0 only...I have checked in two switches
