Does anyone know when Cisco might ship their implementation of 40G-LM4 (aka 40G-Universal)? This is a transceiver which can employ either two-strand multi-mode (OM3/4) or two-strand single-mode, typically with short distances over single-mode (500m - 1000m).
I'm also wanting to know what the loss budget for this transceiver will be.
[I live in a building with ~200m OM4 runs, which supports 10GBaseSR nicely, but makes the jump to 40G expensive, as WSP-Q40GLR4L is the current player in this space: its 2km range is overkill for my environment. I realize that OM4 is out-of-gas at my distances, and that I'm headed toward installing an SMF plant.]
