Hi there,

A device will sometimes keep bouncing its interface in an attempt to obtain an IP address via DHCP. I've seen plenty of printers do this in the past.

Another option would be to stop these events being logged in the first place:

!
int fa0/1
  no logging event link-status
!

Certainly you should want to log these events on switchports connecting to key pieces of infrastructure, but for your average edge port, cut down on the noise in your logs by using the above command.

cheers,

Seb.

Hi Seb,

If there Is any command we can still collect data from PC and laptop but excludes printers ?

If not, any other options that you can advice or recommend it to us.

I am appreciating it.

Thanks.

The printers shouldn't be moving around and generally stay powered. Why not apply the command I suggested on any access switchports configured with the printer VLAN?
